A musician, composer and educator, Sheridan has worked with children and young people to build connections and wellbeing. She completed a Music degree majoring in composition from Otago University (2000). During this time she contributed to community music making (choirs, gamelan and renaissance music groups). She went on to teach performing arts and English in secondary schools for over a decade.
After a foray into academic research (exploring relational cultures in schools and human development), Sheridan worked as a regional facilitator in Restorative Justice Practices for the University of Waikato. She did this for seven years and over this time she developed a lasting interest in the power of circle practices to build community and a sense of belonging.
More recently, Sheridan has been bringing up her daughter in Mōhua. She has reintegrated creative work into community building, focusing on children and whānau, creating workshops to support their engagement in their community.
